I am trying to get mom to eat while online. I have found if I just sit and try to feed her I go crazy . And I can't enjoy my meal while trying to feed her. So I eat before or after . My son moved the computer into the dinning room for me that way my mind is online instead of just sitting here wishing she would eat. It helps the time pass. Believe me it takes forever to get mom to eat. Anyway I was not going to post anything today because I had nothing to say but while I was reading all my new blogger friends post mom yelled out Frank. What! I said. Why in the world would you yell out Frank? She went on to talking about something else.
Frank is my ex-husband. Now there's a memory I wish we both would forget.

Hey there, My boyfriend's (That sounds so retarded, but I don't know what else to call him.) Grandmother is going through the same thing. She is actually refusing to eat. I am sure feeding her has to be a challenge. I think it's great that you take a care of your Mom. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL... about your Mom calling out your EX's name..

Donna M
I just wanted to tell you that you are in my thoughts. That has to be incredibly difficult. You are a hero.
ReplyDeleteWhen Sue and I were taking care of her Grandmother it took more time to feed Grandmother than it did to fix the meal.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless America, God Save The Republic.
Thank you Donna, Diane and David. Feeding takes most of the day and getting her to drink . But reading your post and comments helps alot.
ReplyDeleteGives me something else to do.
Karen it sounds like you have a good plan for yourself to sit and enjoy your meal.
ReplyDeleteHaving your computer in the dining room is great, your son is such a sweetheart, I know you must be so proud of him.
The memory is so strange..... imagine your mom remembering your ex..... hopefully she'll forget.
Take care of yourself.
Karen, one day, during a family Christmas gathering, My father in law was helping my mother in law cut her food. As he leaned over her plate, his silvery hair fell forward. MIL asked, "are you my husband?" Yes, was his reply. Then she said, "well you look like a horse!". We all cracked up & then she got mad for us laughing. She didn't have a clue what was so funny. Better to laugh at times than cry. Thinking of you & your need for strength & patience.

Thanks Beckie that is a great story.
