I found a new blog yesterday called My Peanut Butter and Jelly Life. It reminded me how much mom used to love PB&J sandwich's. First she would eat a half one all by herself . Than I had to start helping her because she kept dropping it. Than we went to cutting it up in to little baby sandwich's for finger food which worked for along time. But now she has trouble with bread since she won't leave her teeth in. I use to find her teeth in the most weird places so we stopped putting them in all together.
My son has a quiz in Physic's today. Better him than me.
My sister stayed over last night to care for mom so I got a whole nights sleep . I like that.
Have a nice week-end everyone. And remember today is Sept. 11 . Say a pray.

ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteOh Amen to a physics test being taken by anyone other than ME. That would send me over the edge; I hope your son did well.
Long ago, my Dad used to help us make PB & J when we were kids -- he taught us to take a piece of bread, spread peanut butter on one half, jelly on the other, and then fold the bread over to make the 1/2 sandwich. Drove my Mom nuts -- she was of the make-a-tidy-sandwich and cut it diagonally school.
I'm glad you got a full night's rest.
My Mom won't wear her teeth at all now -- It's harder and harder to find things she will eat. She does drink Ensure, so at least she gets that when she won't eat.
Best .... Cass
PS And I think I am going to try to make the jam. I have a feeling it won't be as good as my neighbor's, but at least I'll give it a shot. Wish me luck!
I've had a political blog site since 2005, A Republic, if you can keep it. I set up Alzheimer's In The House on August 1, 2009, a few months after we learned my Wife, Sue has early-on-set. Since then I've been looking for other Alzheimer's/Care-giver sites. I was happy to find you today. I'll be adding you to a blog roll to help me find my way back.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless America, God Save The Republic.
