2010 does sound good. One of my blogger friends says she likes the sound of 2010. I do too.
New Years Eve was good. My son got home safe and sound so that makes it a great New Years Eve.
I put mom to bed early and napped on the sofa. My plans were to watch the ball drop in New York. If my son, sister and niece had not texted to tell me Happy New Year I would of slept till morning.
Mom is still on her maple and brown sugar oatmeal diet. She says "that taste good" so oatmeal it is.
I am getting lazy. I find myself not wanting to dress her on the days the aid does not come.Than at night I don't want to put her gown on. We have been doing night shirts. They look like t-shirts and I can just let her sleep in it than put a new one on in the morning . That is working for now. Not being lazy should be my new Years resolutions. I don't think so. Happy New Year To All.

There are some days that I have to force myself to do something...getting dressed is one of those. When you get to the point where everything you do is met with obstacles, it makes you not want to proceed. I am there with pain, you are there with the routine of caring for your mother. We just need to commit to making the best of the day. Shall we try? I'll keep checking in with you. Going to go do a task...one of many needed to be done.

Happy New Year, Karen. Thinking of you and all you are doing to care for your Momma.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that your love for her matters to the Lord? Your efforts in her behalf are not going unnoticed by the Father...
Just wanted you to know I think you have many more jewels in your crown than you probably think you do.
Love to you~
Rebecca
I agree with Rebecca, dear sister. What stars in your crown there will be
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do to refresh yourself so you can care for your mom? Have a resolution to do something for you after mom has her needs met. Make a list of what that might be so you don't get burned up caring for her.
Carol
Wishing you the best for the new year, Karen... and praying that the Lord will give you the energy to do what needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteKaren I agree with the others, you definitely have many stars in your crown!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Thanks everyone. I am sure all your crowns are full of jewels too.
