November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers Month
According to the Alzheimer’s Association 2010 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report, there are more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and as many as 10 million family caregivers.
Remember Caregivers you are not alone. Lots of help out there. It is one of the hardest jobs I have ever done. And if not for Hospice we would not of made it this far. Ask for help. Call someone, anyone. Your family,friends and doc. or your love ones doc. They have info. on how to get help. They don't always tell you about it till you ask . So ask. One person or even two cannot deal with care giving 24/7 on there own. Call DHS there is Elder Choices,The Area On Ageing. And don't forget your church or Pastor never forget to pray. The number one thing that has got me through this is my relationship with the Lord . When I am here alone just me and mom I am never really alone. I pray I cry I pray and cry some more and than the alone feeling goes away. Love you all . And take care of yourself so you can care for your love one.

I loved your post. I actually just wrote a post on mine about how things dont stay the same...things change all the time...
ReplyDeleteIt is so great that you have such a relationship with your faith. I believe that does help us get through our days for sure.
Caregiving is a very lonely place. There are many that dont understand.
I was speaking to my sister yesterday on the phone. She lives in another state and she was saying she was working so many hours and just went home and cried as she was so tired. I felt bad as she does work very hard. She is divorced and while her children are grown she still must support herself so I did sympathize. However when I hung up I thought well as bad as it is at least she can cry quietly on her couch and let it out, I cry in the bathroom and get it out and then come back into my living room and continue working 24/7. Caregiving is hard but we will get through it just like everything else in our life. hang in there. I enjoy reading your posts.
I bow to you YOU all who stay at hoem 24/7, BLESS YOU I get to leave and go home after 8 hours. Not so sure I could do it like you do. (((HUGS)))
