Peach Puree

My friend from school took me to a store that sells canned food by the cases. Allen Canning Company in Siloam Springs Arkansas. It's kind of a outlet store for the canning company.

Anyway I got lots of needed canned food. Mom is going to have peach puree at breakfast tomorrow. I am sure she is tired of applesauce. I am. :)

We also had a nice lunch. And my sister and her grand -daughter cared for mom. I must say they did a nice job. She is napping in her easy chair now. So all is good.
The Nurse comes tomorrow but not the aid. Mom's Aid changed her days from Mon. and Thurs. to Mon. and Fri. This maybe better for mom . Not so many visiters in one day. Never know with mom. She was talking alot when I got home . I believe she enjoyed my sister being here . A break from me. :)

My son is joining a fraternity tonight. I hope they don't haze him. We have watched to many movies about that. He is a pledge for a few weeks and has to do everything they tell him to. It will be great fun I hope. Cross your fingers that he does not have to run around campus in a dress .

  1. Sounds like you had a nice and much-deserved break. Good for you!

A diet change might just keep your mom talking. Glad she’s back again for a while.

Funny you bring up frats. My friend was just telling me that her son hates the dorms and is thinking of pledging a frat. Ay carumba!

  2. Or in his underwear! One of my brothers got dropped off during pledge week, in the middle of a ritzy neighborhood, in just his skivvies -- in the middle of the night. The cops picked him up, he called my Dad, told my Dad the story, and my Dad, who had no sympathy for him, figuring any kid stupid enough to get himself into this fix should rescue himself and learn a lesson, said, "Very interesting. Tell me how you get out of this mess when you get home," and rolled over and went back to sleep!

Mmmm... peach puree. sounds good to me. I liked your snow pictures, but ICE is the worst. My daughter bought me a pair of Yak Trax, they are wire things that clip on the bottom of shoes or boots and make it easier to walk on ice. We get lots of ice here, and are on the side of a hill, too ... makes it hard.

But it's like a charm -- since she gave me the Yak Trax, there has not been any ice!

  8. I gave mom peach puree too, I bought canned peaches and used my immersion blender to blend them and then mixed them in her oatmeal of mixed them with peach or vanilla yogurt. The change was really for me more then mom because mom couldn't taste anything anyhow. She hasn't been able to taste or smell for years, even before the dementia set in. So, even though I would add something new "for her" it was really just making a change for me, to have a different food to look at or work with.

  10. Those hazings scare me. The horror stories I read. Oh well, I guess boys have few rights of passage anymore.
