Hi All My Blogger Friends. It has been awhile since my last post. Just got back from this years Alzheimer's Walk. Another great one. Thank you all for donations and walking.
I got a list of 101 ways to spend time with a person with Alzheimer's today at the walk so thought I would post a few every now and than. They are great ideas.
First I want to tell you all who are still caring for your love one to keep the faith people you will get through this. Keep Praying. Never go a day without it. Trust me without the Lord mom and I would not of made it down this long rocky rode. Next is family and friends. I thank the Lord everyday for my friends and family.
1. Listen to music
2.Toss a ball
3.Color pictures
4. Make homemade lemonade
5. Count trading cards
6. Clip coupons
7. Sort poker chips
8. Read out loud chapters from your favorite book or stories
9. Rake leaves
10. String beads.
Here is a few more to come later.

Karen,
ReplyDeleteI have trouble getting my husband to do much other than watch TV. He is still in stage one and we can communicate and enjoy much together. Mowing the law is a big problem. I was going to hire someone to mow the law and he objected, saying he will do it. They say to not take jobs away from our loved ones, but it's hard to see that high grass especially in the front yard.
Hugs,
Carol
I would imagine that just being together and doing not much of anything could be considered something useful for the list. I am sure just having company is helpful (this is sort of in response to Carol's comment -which, I can imagine that there are times that not much else can be done..). Great list, thanks for sharing.
