I am on a mission. Have you ever watched the Bonnie Hunt Show? It is great. She is always helping out cause's and raising money. But we need to get more people aware of Alz's.
5.3 million Americans are living with Alz's .Every 70 seconds someone develops Alz's. And it is the seventh leading cause of Death. But you never here this on very many talk shows. Lets spread the word. I want all my blogger friends to go to the Bonnie Hunt Show and write her a letter or any other show you like to watch. The Early Show , Ellen, Regis and Kelly,Oprah or Good Morning American. Lets get the word out. Thanks

Hi Karen...
ReplyDeleteThis is GREAT! Yes! Spread the word. I pray there is a cure before my children have to face the very real chance their dad or I will develop this disease... My husband's father has ALZ also... Both our father's....:(! :....(
Yesterday the Nursing Home where my father lives asked my hubbs and I if we would do the special music at the Home's Christmas Party. My father is a retired Minister and I grew up going with him to Nursing Homes and ministering to the afflicted almost ever Sunday afternoon as a child. I learned to sing there...
Anyway...just knowing that my father will be in the "audience" instead of in a place of leadership while we are singing is KILLING ME. I wanted to scream out "NO! I can't do this!!! Don't ask me!" But then, after I thought about it a bit, I figured what better way to honor the man who taught me not to be afraid in public...and of course, about Jesus.... So many of these people are truly alone and so many of them (not all old, mind you!) are really suffering.
This won't be until Dec...but pray for me. I'm just not good with this kind of stuff.
Love to you...thinking of you and applauding the care you give your Mother. Somewhere deep inside her she knows.
Rebecca
Thanks Rebecca, And I will pray for you and you will do a wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Karen; I'll write a letter asking for more shows on Alzheimer's. It's is amazing that we don't see more shows on this subject, when so many people are affected.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good idea!
I hope you're having a good week.
Thanks Dolores. I am having a great week.
