Shampoo Cap
I washed mom's hair today. Just for fun really because the aid does that once or twice a week . But the nurse gave me a shower cap to wash her hair with and I wanted to play with it. You put it in the microwave for 30 seconds than put it on your love ones hair and start working it in. It was to hot right out of the microwave so make sure you let it cool or do less seconds. Anyway it was fun. If I had to do it I would not be so much fun because when I had to I hated it . But you don't even have to rinse the hair after. So cool.
Notice moms swollen eye. It might not look so bad if she would smile. I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. But we can hope. Anyway she has a bad eye from detached retina surgery years ago and it is infected. We have her on eye drops. I hope they work . They have in the past. I am not even going to try to take her to the eye doc. So lets pray the eye drops work. Thanks .
If you want a fancy shower cap to wash your love ones hair or yours you can get them from the Alzheimer's store. I know I have wrote about this before but I love this stuff.

ReplyDeleteCarol
thanks !! If you click on Shampoo Cap it will take you to the Alz's store. Have fun shopping.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything like the Shampoo Cap. How neat! Here's hoping your little mother's eye infection clears up.
ReplyDeleteYou know that eye infection looks an awful lot like one that I get every couple years....the only thing that helps mine is Antibiotics with a cold compress. I found out that I was allergic to Neosporin because of the eye infection.
ReplyDeleteHope it gets better fast.
When my mom was hospitalized 3 yrs ago, one of the nurses "washed" her hair with that. It was a good temporary solution at the time. How is her eye doing?
ReplyDeleteMom eyes is still all swollen. I don't know if the drops are working. The nurse came today and thought it looked better. Thanks everyone.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I really was not happy with the way the shampoo cap made moms hair look. I might of should of rinsed it after. But it made it look greasy. It is still handy but I don't think it is no rinse. Sorry guys.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I was just thinking about you today -- and then found your comment on my blog! I was thinking about my Mom as I wrote my post about Pittsburgh; my Mom loved the neighborhood we lived in there, because it reminded her so much of Brooklyn, where she grew up. She always missed living in cities when they moved to the suburbs.
ReplyDeleteAnd thinking about her made me wonder how you were doing, and how your Mom is. My Dad is doing all right, but he's losing weight and now has a sore on his bum -- and having a little more trouble with the Parkinsons. It's a long road.
I never saw one of those shampoo caps! Very clever -- and probably easier than using powdered shampoo.
Good to hear from you! I hope Mom's eye is better soon -- I always worry about any infections.
Cass
