Is It Friday Yet?

This has been a awful week. I have cried and pigged out and cried and pigged out some more. As soon as my son came home last night I went to Wal-mart to get mom some yogurt and applesauce . We used all our peaches that I got from the canning company wholesale store. If I had not made a peach pie they would of lasted longer but it was a very good pie.
Anyway it can't be because I am stuck here that this has been such a long week. I have been running in and out. I got invited to go to lunch with friends but could not get away for that long. It is good to have friends thinking of me. Thanks everyone.
Maybe because the sun was shining and I wanted or needed to do more. Tomorrow is my yearly checkup so I get to go to the Doc. Yippee!!! My sister is feeling better so she is going to come stay with mom. This weekend I am going to the Mall and Mall Walk with my niece and her friends . That will make me feel better . I love to people watch and window shop. And I have a couple birthdays to buy for. I think we might go see a movie and eat out. Since my sis has had a whole week off I am going to make a day of it. Of course she was sick so I might be nice and not make a day of it. I don't know I am getting happy just thinking about it. I feel better all ready.

  1. Oh Karen (and yes I do seem to know a lot of Karens, but it IS a lovely name!) --- please take time this weekend, take that day, walk and window shop and see a movie, eat out -- do something for YOU. Remember, there's another week around the bend; grab some time, please!
    Hugs -- Cass

PS -- My sister and I took our dad to lunch today at a diner; there was a woman with her mother at the next table, and it broke my heart -- the mother was just like MY mom was about 3 years ago, and I could just see the hard road ahead of those two women. AD is merciless, so be a little merciful to yourself -- have some fun.

  2. Hi Karen,

Thank you so much for your kind words on my blog. I'm sorry it has been along and hard week for you. Boy - I can relate to crying and pigging out...done that a few zillion times. I need to read back through your last few posts to see what contributed to it being a tough week. Just the nature of what you're doing in caring for your mom is so draining and stressful. Even though rewarding, it must suck the life out of you at times.

I'm glad you're getting some time off this weekend to shop and be with other people. I say go for taking as much of the day as you can. Your sister can handle that! Take care and hugs!

  3. Thanks Cass. I miss the days when we could take mom out to eat. Those days are long gone. I feel for everyone who still has this stage of the disease to go throw.

  6. Hey Karen! Hope today is better today, seems we were both in the same mood yesterday! I was going to go walking at the mall today, but it was kind of last minute to get my cousin here who lives about an hour away, and just didn't feel like putting out the extra "effort" to get ready for it. But I know if I had gone it would have been good for me in more ways then one!

It is odd how certain days just all of a sudden trigger our emotions isn't it. A big help for me was that my son didn't have to deploy today, so that made me feel better. I am doing catch up on comments today, plus youngest grand son will be over, and I might do some more writing too.
Maybe we can have a food day sometime, a mac and cheese moment when we are feeling like yesterday??! Blessings on you today Karen!

  9. I've been behind on checking blogs. We've had a grandchild here for a week, but I'm glad to read that you're feeling a bit better. Sometimes we just need to scream and cry and try to get out some of the frustration.

I'm hoping you can get out of the house this weekend and mall walk or whatever..... just get out of the house
    Hugs...

  13. I think there should be a national care giver day and all stores give freebies and meals on house! Glad you'll be having the day!
